About Lisa
Hi, I’m Lisa! I usually travel with my husband, and often with our teenage kids. Aside from a full-time career for over 20 years, what I truly loved to do in my spare time was plan trips and vacation getaways.
I started this blog because whenever I shared stories about our travels – the savvy tips, hidden gems and unexpected discoveries I found along the way – friends would always ask for my hotel picks, itinerary or help with planning their own trip.
That’s because I do a TON of research before I travel, trying to figure out how to make every dollar I spend lead to a memory that’s truly worth it.
That has helped me travel the world – France, Spain, Italy (which keeps luring me back), London, Turkey, Bahamas, Cuba, USA (New York, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, California, New Orleans) and Canada (Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Ontario) and a lot of vacations with my kids when they are on school break to warm winter destinations including Florida, Mexico and Dominican Republic.
My philosophy is simple – to find value for your travel dollar. We all work hard to afford travel, so the trips you take should feel worth the money you spend.
That’s why I focus on experiences that truly deliver – whether it’s a hole-in-the-wall eatery offering unforgettable local flavour on a dime or a splurge-worthy experience. My goal is to help you make the most of your hard-earned travel dollars.
